		The men's World cup season starts at Innsbrück (AUT). The main 		target is gonna be Armin Zöggeler, one of the most successful men 		in the sport. Who will be able to stop the Italian luger: Felix Loch, 		Olympic champion or maybe Albert Demchenko? Let's come back 		on the season 2010-2011.

	"Il Cannibale" is on an amazing 5 consecutive titles in a row but he "only" 	finishes at the 3rd place here in Innsbrück-Igls.

	Right after Zöggeler, it's David Möller on the track, the silver medalist in Vancouver.

	Despite a very good 2nd run (50.185 New track record), it's finally, Felix Loch who wins the opener with the exact same time for the 1st and 2nd run: 50.199 (total: 1:40.398).

After a disappointing 1st event in Austria, Armin Zöggeler tries and 	successes to reach the 1st spot again.

03.36		HLTS 2nd RUN ZÖGGELER 
	Armin Zöggeler celebrates his 50th individual victory in the World Cup series. On the artificially-iced track in Winterberg, he defeats 2 times World champion David Möller (0.219 seconds behind) who took 2nd place. Germany’s young luger talent Julian von Schleinitz made an impressive debut at his first competition in the World Cup. The two-time junior World champion finished on the third place, just 0.279 seconds behind Zöggeler and thus made it onto the podium at his very first go.

04.38		 PODIUM + OVERALL STANDINGS
Armin Zöggeler and David Möller are jointly leading the 	overall rankings after 2 of the altogether 8 events. Both have 170 	points to their credit. Germany’s Olympic champion Felix Loch, fourth in Winterberg, collected 160 points so far and thus holds third position on the overall rankings.

05.05		END OF VIKTOR KNEYB'S 2nd RUN 
On the track of the 1988 Olympic Games, Armin Zöggeler defeats 	Russia’s Viktor Kneyb (0.261 seconds behind) who finished in second place. This is the best career result for the 30-year old luger from 	Russia who 	achieved a third position in Innsbruck-Igls in the Olympic season. Germany’s Olympic champion Felix Loch (0.311 seconds behind) took third place.


05.11		HLTS 2nd RUN ZÖGGELER + SLOWMOS
Nine years ago, Armin Zöggeler won the third of his altogether five 	World Championship titles in Calgary. Now the 36-year old 	luger from 	Italy celebrated his second season’s victory at the Canada Olympic Park – 	the third consecutive win in Calgary and the now 51st success of his 	career in the World Cup.

06.52		WIDE SHOT OF THE TRACK + FANS	
This is a World debut in Paramonovo, Latvia.  Similar to Sigulda, the start 	is located in a tower. The track comprises 19 curves and a maximum 	downhill grade of 15 percent. The competition lengths are 1,261m 	(women singles and doubles) and 1,410m (men singles). 

07.01		SLOWMOS ZÖGGELER
	This is the 2nd time in the season where the Italian is not on the podium. 	If he would, he already has been crowned in Paramonovo. He will have 	to wait for the last event in Sigulda.

07.33		SLOWMOS FELIX LOCH
	Felix Loch, Olympic champion and the only man who could beat the 	italian luger. He finishes 2nd and could get the trophy after the last 	event.
08.01		HLTS 2nd RUN DEMCHENKO
	Cheered by numerous spectators, Albert Demchenko celebrated his first 	victory this season. The 39-year old Olympic silver medallist of the 2006 	Winter Games in Torino defeated the two German lugers Felix Loch and 	Andi Langenhan to second and third place respectively.

	SIGULDA
08.49		HLTS 2nd RUN ARMIN ZÖGGELER	
	The Italian luger has added another success to his already long list of 	victories. At the final of the World Cup in Sigulda, Latvia, the record 	World champion (six titles) from Italy celebrated his 54th individual 	victory and secured his tenth overall World Cup. He is now tied with 	record-winner Markus Prock of Austria. 
09.31		OVERALL RANKINGS
	Zoeggeler’s only serious contender at the season’s final, Olympic 	champion Felix Loch of Germany, had to make do with a 14th place in 	Sigulda. In the overall rankings Loch now holds second position behind 	Zoeggeler (765 points) with 658 points to his credit. 
09.40		PODIUM WITH THE CUP FOR ARMIN
	Russia’s Albert Demchenko, who celebrated his first season’s victory on 	his home track in Paranomovo last weekend, finished in second position 	in Sigulda and thus improved to third place on the overall rankings (514 	points).

Germany’s Tatjana Huefner takes off into the new luge season just as she ended the last. Nine and a half months after her Olympic gold medal at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, the 27-year old celebrated the 22nd individual victory of her career.

03.27		HLTS 2nd RUN OF HÜFNER
With the fastest times in both runs and a lead of 0.143 seconds Tatjana Hüfner took the victory ahead of team-mate Anke Wischnewski. World champion Erin Hamlin (0.297 seconds behind) from the US finished in third position.
03.41		PODIUM + OVERALL RANKINGS
Hüfner is now leading the overall with 300 points, Natalie Geisenberger is 2nd with 230 and Anke Wischnewski (205).
		

KÖNIGSSEE
03.53		WIDE SHOT + SLOWMOS NEW TRACK RECORD HÜFNER
	The Olympic bronze medalist Natalie Geisenberger of Germany has 	put 	an end to the winning series of Tatjana Hufner who had won all four 	preceding events. 
04.08		SLOWMOS 2nd RUN GEISENBERGER
	Thus Geisenberger celebrated her 7th individual victory. With a winning 	margin of two hundredths of a second she relegated her team-mate and 	two-time World champion to second place. For the third time in the 	post-Olympic season Canada’s Alex Gough earned a third place. 
 		
04.48   	SHOT HÜFNER UNHAPPY + SLOWMOW AND JOY GEISENBERGER
	Tatjana Huefner is still leading the overall Viessmann Luge World 	Cup 	rankings with a total of 485 points to her credit. Geisenberger holds 	second place (390 points) on the overall rankings, ahead of Anke 	Wischnewski (345), both of Germany.

05.07		SLOWMOS 2nd RUN ALEX GOUGH		
	Canada’s Alex Gough had the honour to put an end to the winning series 	of Germany’s women after 105 successive victories since December 6, 	1997. The World bronze medallist celebrated the first World Cup success 	of her career in Paramonovo, Russia. 

05.41		HLTS 2nd RUN HÜFNER
	After the first run in the lead, Tatjana Huefner botched her second run 	and had to make do with a fourth place behind team-mates Carina 	Schwab, who celebrated the best result of her career so far finishing in 	second position, and Natalie Geisenberger. Nevertheless Hüfner 	claimed the overall World Cup victory for the fourth time in a row.

06.08		JOY GOUGH + OVERALL RANKINGS + PODIUM
	Hüfner, with a total of 745 points to her credit, accomplished the so far 	unique feat in the history of the International Luge Federation, FIL, to 	celebrate four successive overall World Cup victories (2007-2008; 2008-	2009; 2009-2010 and 2010-2011).

	The President of the International Olympic Committee, IOC, Jacques 	Rogge, followed the final in the women’s singles.

	Germany’s Olympic champion Tatjana Huefner has tied her own record. 	At the final of the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Sigulda, Latvia, the 	three-time World champion celebrated her seventh victory this season 	and thus tied her own record of the 2007-2008 season, when she 	achieved seven wins, too.

	Hüfner won the overall rankings with a total of 845 points to her credit, 	ahead of team-mates Natalie Geisenberger (680) and Anke Wischnewski 	(605).

	4th after the 1st run, the pair Linger/Linger (current leader of the World 	Cup) made quite a bad mistake right after the start, almost felt but 	finished finally at the 20th rank.
01.53		SLOWMOS 2nd RUN WENDL/ARLT
	The German doubles’ Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt celebrated their fourth 	individual victory in the Viessmann Luge World Cup series. The 2008 	World runners-up defeated Christian Oberstolz-Patric Gruber of Italy 	(0.010 seconds behind). Oberstolz-Gruber (ITA/170 points) are currently 	heading the overall World Cup rankings ahead of Wendl-Arlt (GER/160) 	and Niccum-Terdiman (USA/125).

03.11		HLTS RUN 2 OF WENDL/ARLT
	Finishing in third position, Germany’s Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt 	maintained 	their lead in the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup with 	now 330 points to their credit.

03.46		SPLIT SCREEN 2nd RUN Penz/Fischler and 					Linger/Linger + joy	
	It is an absolute rarity in this competition: two doubles’ teams posted 	exactly the same time and thus shared the top spot of the podium in 	Park City. Austria’s Andreas Linger-Wolfgang Linger and compatriots 	Peter Penz-Georg Fischler achieved this feat. For Penz-Fischler it was the 	first World Cup victory of their career, for two-time Olympic champions 	Linger-Linger it was already the eighth success.

05.48		SLOWMOS 2nd RUN LINGER/LINGER	
	Olympic and World champions Andreas Linger-Wolfgang Linger ended 	the post-Olympic winter setting an Austrian record. At the final of the 	World Cup in Sigulda, Latvia, the doubles’ celebrated their fifth victory 	this season. 
06.04		SLOWMOS OBERSTOLZ/GRUBER + WENDL/ARLT
	However, the Austrian two-time Olympic champions stumbled at the 	World Cup events in Winterberg (20th position) and Oberhof (7th 	position). This is why the doubles’ failed to achieve their first overall 	Luge World Cup.
06.22		WORLD CUP RANKINGS + PODIUM
	Italy’s Christian Oberstolz-Patrick Gruber achieved third place in the 	overall World Cup rankings with a total of 671 points to their credit, 	behind winners Wendl-Arlt (746) and Linger-Linger (692).

06.39		WIDE SHOT + HLTS GERMAN RELAY
	Germany’s relay team has written a chapter of luge history: 
	The quartet with Tatjana Huefner, Andi Langenhan and the doubles’ 	Tobias Arlt-Tobias Wendl won the first Team Relay event. In Innsbruck-	Igls, team Canada once again lived up to its reputation as relay 	specialists – Alex Gough, Sam Edney and Tristan Walker-Justin Snith thus 	finished on second position ahead of the quartet from Italy .

SIGULDA
07.42		SHOTS OF JACQUES ROGGE	+ SLOWMOS RUSSIA 				AND GERMANY	
	Under the eyes of Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic 	Committee, IOC, the final in the Team Relay World Cup. The team of 	Russia took the top spot on the podium, defeating Italy’s team with 	Sandra Gasparini, Armin Zoeggeler and Christian Oberstolz-Patrick 	Gruber as well as team Germany with Tatjana Huefner, Jan Eichhorn and 	Toni Eggert-Sascha Benecken to second and third place respectively.

08.44		SHOT OF THE CUP + OVERALL RANKINGS + 					PODIUM
	In the overall rankings, Germany took first place (570 points) ahead of 	Italy (440) and Russia (426).
